Day 1 | Arrival

Today's flight to Taipei was rather packed. There were no extra seats in the plane where we can put our extra stuffs. Didn't take photo because my digital camera decided to give up on me last minute before boarding the plane.

Anyway, the plane arrived exactly at 1745 hours
at Tao Yuan International Airport (formerly known as Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport), as stated on the boarding pass. It was cloudy over in Taipei when the plane touched down.

We went through the lengthy immigration check-in procedure before we finally meet our volunteer - Ee Ling. Well, she isn't exactly my volunteer but anyway is nice to have someone to bring us to our hostel.

The weather outside the weather was quite cold. Relatively. Average temperature of 30 degrees to a place where is 10 degrees below, it wouldn't be that surprising.

There is another interesting thing about Taiwan is that day turns dark at 6 pm. We went outside the airport around 6.30 pm and it was like 8 pm way back in Singapore. Perhaps this has something to do with the solstice where daytime is shorter.

We checked into our hostel and went for dinner around the night markets near our campus.
